Balancing Calories- the Wellness Lifestyle Approach

In order to maintain a healthy weight for a lifetime you need to control calories! Weight management is all about balancing the number of calories you consume with the number of calories your body uses.

During our coaching sessions we will spend a lot of time discussing the different components of food but it is still important to realize that all foods contain calories. Whether you're consuming carbohydrates, fats, or proteins all of them contain calories. If your diet focus is on any one of these alone, you're missing the bigger picture of lifestyle balance. My mission is to lead you on a path where your focus in on a balanced or holistic lifestyle, where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Balancing the type of food with the amount that we eat leads to a nutritional lifestyle.

Exercise

Exercise is a crucial to maintaining a healthy weight and is an essential part of a Wellness Lifestyle. Exercise lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, certain cancers, and many other health disorders.

Exercise works best when it is structured to fit your lifestyle, not the other way around. Working out or exercising will be more rewarding if it fits how you live and the schedule you live by. There are many different individual paths to a fitness lifestyle and everyone doesn't need to join a gym to get into shape! Most people need just 30 minutes of moderate exercise on most days of the week to achieve their fitness needs.

A Fitness Lifestyle balances good health and exercise with good living. It integrates healthy and nutritional eating habits with an exercise program combining weight and resistance training along with cardiovascular exercise.
